    About Whitewater, BC

There’s a reason this one-of-a-kind ski resort has been considered by Powder Magazine as “one of best powder mountains on the continent.” Located in the Selkirk Mountains on the famous Powder Highway in British Columbia, and just outside of Nelson, Whitewater Ski Resort is graced with an average of 40-plus feet of light, dry snow every season. Its abundance of natural terrain is spread over 1,184 acres and over 2,045 feet of steeps, deeps, chutes, bowls and glades.

This lift-serviced backcountry scene has given the mountain legendary status amongst avid skiers and off-piste snowboarders. Best of all, big crowds and lift lines are virtually non-existent at Whitewater. Off mountain, guests of Whitewater can head into nearby Nelson, just 15 minutes from the mountain, and enjoy over 40 restaurants, an array of accommodation options, hot springs and a winter vibe unlike any other. For those in search of an authentic, core ski vacation experience, you’ll find it at Whitewater Ski Resort. Ski Whitewater

Whitewater previously enjoyed repute as a small ski area, with just two chairs, and provided skiers with a mellow skiing experience, but the resort’s recent expansion and construction of Glory Ridge triple chair on the resort’s backside, resulted to an influx of hardcore powder seekers. Overnight the resort doubled in size and added 2,000-plus feet of vertical. These days advanced and expert skiers enjoy a majority 56 percent of Whitewater’s terrain.Hardcore skiers and boarders just can’t get enough of Whitewater’s snorkel deep steeps, bowls, trees and glades. But beginners and intermediates are still well served with some of Canada’s best natural corduroy.
